Who is Apostolos Parellis
Apostolos Parellis is considered to be the top Discus Thrower in Cyprus’ history. He was born in 1985 and he is the holder of the Cyprus National Record (66.32m) since September 2019.
He is currently ranked at number eight in the Olympic Championship since Rio 2016 and 5th World Champion of Doha in 2019. Parellis has also competed in the Olympic Games held in London in 2012 and was ranked 13th.
Apostolos competed in 4 consecutive World Athletic Championships, 2 Olympic Games, several Diamond League Meetings, and various European and International Men’s Championships. In 2018, he won the gold medal in the Mediterranean Games in Tarragona, the bronze medal in Gold Coast and finished in 8th place in the European Championship in Berlin.
The current progression of Apostolos records infield, especially after his outstanding performance at the IAAF World Athletics Championship in Doha, has placed Apostolos in the top 10 of the world’s discus throw athletes.
